Christopher Chung discusses Netflix role in ‘My Brilliant Career’

Actor Christopher Chung is transitioning from his role as Roddy Hoin in the series ‘Slow Horses’ to the romantic lead in Netflix’s upcoming period drama, ‘My Brilliant Career’. The series is a screen adaptation of the classic 1901 Australian novel, which follows a rebellious young woman defying marriage expectations.

Chung portrays Harry Beecham, a role previously played by the late Sam Neill in the 1979 film adaptation. Chung noted the significance of an East Asian actor taking on a leading romantic part in an Australian period piece. He also shared that he received a video blessing for the role from Neill prior to the actor's passing earlier this summer.
