Christopher Hohn invests $636 million in Italian luxury hotels
Sir Christopher Hohn, through his hedge fund The Children's Investment Fund (TCI), has invested $636 million in loans targeting ultra-luxury hotels across Italy. The strategy capitalizes on rising room rates and high demand from wealthy international travelers for exclusive locations.
The largest single investment is a $392 million loan to the iconic Hotel Danieli in Venice, which recently transitioned from Marriott to Four Seasons management. Other significant loans include $132 million for the Hotel Caesar Augustus on Capri, $74 million for the Six Senses on Lake Como, and $38 million for the Mandarin Oriental in Milan.
