Christopher Judge endorses God of War Laufey

Christopher Judge, the voice actor for Kratos, has publicly endorsed the upcoming title ‘God of War Laufey’ following community debate regarding the game's shift in protagonist. During a panel at Fan Expo Canada, Judge praised the project, describing it as “a banger” and stating that players will be “blown away.”

Judge specifically commended actress Deborah Ann Woll, who will take on the lead role as Faye, the mother of Atreus. Woll, known for her work in ‘True Blood’ and ‘Daredevil’, will transition from brief narrative appearances in ‘God of War Ragnarok’ to a fully playable character. Early gameplay samples suggest a combat style that is more acrobatic and agile compared to the heavy, physical combat associated with Kratos.

Developed by Santa Monica Studio, the game is scheduled for an exclusive release on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027. While the decision to move away from Kratos as the primary playable character has polarized some fans, the support from the series' main cast reinforces Sony's direction for the franchise's evolution.
