Christopher Melenciano surprises hearing-impaired child on PGT
Dominican sprinter Christopher Melenciano appeared on the television program Pequeños Grandes Talentos (PGT) to surprise Isayli Soto, a young participant with a hearing disability. During the second semifinal round, Melenciano presented Soto with an official mascot from the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
Melenciano, who was also born with a hearing disability, recently achieved success at the Santo Domingo 2026 Games as part of the gold-medal-winning mixed 4x400 meters relay team. He previously earned gold in the 200 meters and silver in the 400 meters at the 2022 Deaflympics. Following the encounter, the production of PGT announced that Isayli Soto would not be subject to the standard contestant voting process.
