Christopher Newport field hockey defeats Babson in top-five matchup

In collegiate field hockey, No. 4 Christopher Newport University defeated No. 3 Babson 6-1. Caroline Hughlett led the performance with six points, including two goals and two assists, matching a program record for points by a captain against a nationally ranked opponent.

Freshman Calli Martin contributed a goal and an assist, becoming the first freshman in school history to record three points against a nationally ranked foe. Isabel Tamayo also scored her first career goal. The six goals scored by Christopher Newport equaled the program's record for goals against a nationally ranked opponent.

In women's soccer, Boston University and Providence played to a 1-1 draw. Boston University took an early lead via a penalty kick by Kat Slott in the 33rd minute. Providence equalized in the 71st minute with a goal from Signe Tingager.
