Christopher Nkunku joins RB Leipzig on loan from AC Milan

Christopher Nkunku has rejoined RB Leipzig on a season-long loan from AC Milan, reportedly turning down interest from Premier League clubs Manchester United and Newcastle United to return to Germany.

After falling out of favor at AC Milan following the appointment of Ruben Amorim, the 28-year-old French international sought a move. Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer led the effort to bring the attacker back to the Red Bull Arena, where Nkunku previously played from 2019 to 2023.

The loan deal includes a €28m (£24m) option to buy. While Manchester United and Newcastle both showed serious interest in the versatile attacker, Nkunku opted for the familiarity of his former Bundesliga club.
