Christopher Nolan shows off IMAX camera-shaped popcorn bucket for upcoming film The Odyssey

Director Christopher Nolan handed a custom IMAX popcorn bucket to longtime cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema while promoting his upcoming movie The Odyssey. The bucket is shaped like an IMAX film camera, features the IMAX logo, and costs about $50. It was sold out shortly after being revealed, with no confirmed restock date. Nolan and van Hoytema have collaborated on several IMAX-shot films, including Oppenheimer, Tenet, Dunkirk and Interstellar, and have also worked with IMAX on camera development.

The Odyssey is slated for release on July 17 and stars an ensemble cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Nolan encourages viewers to watch the film in IMAX theatres, ideally with the novelty of eating popcorn from the camera‑shaped container.
