Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey approaches $1.8 billion global box office
Christopher Nolan’s epic film, ‘The Odyssey’, is nearing a major financial milestone as it approaches a $1.8 billion global box office total. While the film’s domestic performance in North America has slowed significantly, with its 14th weekend earning under $1 million across 330 theaters, international markets continue to drive its success.
In its 15th weekend, the film earned $3.2 million internationally, representing a modest 17.9% decline. Its overseas cumulative total has reached $1.17 billion across 82 markets. When combined with its $625.4 million domestic total, the worldwide gross currently stands at $1.79 billion. Analysts expect the film to surpass the $1.8 billion mark within the coming week.
The film, which had a production budget of $250 million, has shown exceptional longevity in international markets. Notably, its second weekend in Italy marked the largest sophomore frame ever for a US studio film in that region.
