Nolan's 'The Odyssey' fuels box‑office surge and cultural controversy
Christopher Nolan's 2026 adaptation of Homer's epic, titled The Odyssey, has become a global cinematic hit. In the United States it earned more than $330 million, overtaking Oppenheimer and becoming the third‑largest domestic gross of Nolan’s career. The movie also revitalised related media. Ubisoft reported that daily active players of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey jumped roughly 90 percent—up to 233 000 users—after the premiere, especially on PlayStation platforms. A behind‑the‑scenes documentary, The Making of The Odyssey, was released on Peacock and Apple TV+.
