Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' launches official Roblox game

Universal has released a free Roblox experience called **The Odyssey: Defy the Gods** as the official promotional tie‑in for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film *The Odyssey*. The game, playable on the Roblox platform, lets players collaborate to survive an oceanic voyage, gather supplies, solve puzzles and confront storms and whirlpools. Each playthrough promises “a new ocean” through procedural generation or dynamic elements.

The title is rated for players 18 and older because of violence and fear, matching the film’s R rating. The launch follows a Hollywood trend of using user‑generated platforms for marketing, previously seen with titles such as *Black Adam* and *How to Train Your Dragon* on Roblox and Fortnite. *The Odyssey*—Nolan’s first release since *Oppenheimer*—is slated to open on 17 July and features a star‑studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway.
