Christopher Wallace Jr. challenges grandmother’s amended will

Christopher “C. J.” Wallace Jr., son of the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G., has filed a legal challenge against the amended will of his grandmother, Voletta Wallace. The dispute centers on a modification made to the will on February 6, 2025, just 15 days before Voletta Wallace passed away at age 78.

Under a 2020 version of the will, assets including jewelry, furs, music awards, and property in Jamaica were reportedly intended for C. J. and his sister, T’yanna Wallace. The 2025 amendment allegedly transferred the estate to Wayne Barrow, a former manager of The Notorious B.I.G., who now serves as the executor.

In court filings, Wallace Jr. alleges that his grandmother’s declining health and use of multiple medications during her final days rendered her unable to make rational decisions. He further claims that the signatures on the modified document are “facially inconsistent.” Wallace Jr. is seeking to have the judge invalidate the recent changes and remove Barrow as the executor of the estate.
