Christos Kellas discusses agricultural issues in Tyrnavos
Christos Kellas, former Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food and MP for Larissa, met with residents and local officials in Tyrnavos to discuss challenges facing the agricultural and livestock sectors.
Kellas addressed issues regarding pending payments for 2024–2025, including basic assistance, ecological schemes, and support for young farmers, as well as subsidies for animal feed. He emphasized the importance of normalizing the ODBE declaration process to assist in seasonal planning.
Regarding livestock, Kellas noted that satisfactory milk prices are a positive development but proposed a pilot program to reconstruct livestock capital to ensure the long-term viability of local production. He also referenced recent government announcements regarding tax exemptions for professional farmers with incomes up to 20,000 euros.
