Christos Kellas visits Akri to discuss rural revitalization
Christos Kellas, a Member of Parliament for Larissa and former Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, visited Akri in Elassona to discuss regional challenges. The discussions focused on supporting agricultural and livestock activities, improving infrastructure, and addressing the need to revitalize rural villages to encourage younger generations to return.
Kellas highlighted several government measures aimed at supporting small settlements and rural producers. These include the planned abolition of ENFIA (property tax) from 2027 for primary residences in settlements with 1,500 to 1,700 inhabitants, the removal of the occupation tax for self-employed professionals, and reductions in minimum deemed income for professionals in small communities. Additionally, measures such as the return of the agricultural fuel tax refund (EFK) were noted as efforts to ease the burden on farmers and rural residents.
