Christy Carlson Romano accuses Shawn Ashmore of ghosting her over fame concerns

Actress Christy Carlson Romano has publicly accused former boyfriend and ‘Cadet Kelly’ co-star Shawn Ashmore of ghosting her during their relationship. In an Instagram post, Romano claimed that while they dated for the summer they filmed the 2002 Disney Channel movie and for several months afterward, she was eventually ghosted because Ashmore’s team allegedly decided she ‘wasn’t famous enough’ to continue the relationship.

Romano, 42, stated that the experience was part of a broader pattern of the ‘brutal’ realities of growing up in the entertainment industry. She noted that she was 18 at the time of the relationship. These revelations are part of her efforts to expose the industry's complexities ahead of her upcoming memoir, ‘Once Upon a Trainwreck: The Rise and Fall of a Child Star’, which is scheduled for release on October 6.
