Christy Ucheibe joins Al Hilal from Benfica

Nigerian midfielder Christy Ucheibe has signed a two-year contract with the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. The 25-year-old joins the Riyadh-based side following a successful six-year tenure with Portuguese champions Benfica.

During her time in Portugal, Ucheibe made 91 appearances and helped Benfica secure multiple domestic titles, including a fourth consecutive league championship. Her move to the Saudi Women’s Premier League reunites her with fellow Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala, who is already part of the Al Hilal squad.

A versatile player capable of operating in midfield or at centre-back, Ucheibe has earned 32 caps for the Nigeria Super Falcons and was a member of the squad that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Her contract with Al Hilal is expected to run until the summer of 2028.
