Chronicles: Medieval reveals new audio and music details

Raw Power Games has released a new developer diary for its upcoming medieval sandbox title, Chronicles: Medieval, focusing on the game’s audio design and musical score. The development update features insights from composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen and senior audio designer Troels Jørgensen.

The audio team is utilizing period-appropriate instruments to create an immersive atmosphere. The game features adaptive music designed to react organically to player actions, using sound cues to signal shifts in mood, such as impending danger, safety in settlements, or the scale of large-scale battles. The battle sound effects are being engineered to adjust based on the size of the armies involved in combat.

Four musical tracks currently in production were previewed: ‘Empire Autumn’, ‘France Winter’, ‘Character Generation’, and ‘Empire Battle Theme’. Chronicles: Medieval is set in the British Isles, France, and the Holy Roman Empire, with a release planned for 2027.
