Chrysanthemum exhibitions held in Japan

Various chrysanthemum exhibitions are being held across Japan, showcasing traditional cultivation techniques and seasonal displays.

In Itoigawa, the Sakaemachi Yuyu Club “Daigiku Tomo no Kai” hosted its 12th annual chrysanthemum exhibition at the Noou Lifelong Learning Center. Due to unpredictable weather, the event was moved indoors. The display features approximately 50 pots, including large chrysanthemum arrangements in various styles such as three-stem, five-stem, Daruma, and Fukusuke. Representative Yoshio Inomata noted that the exhibition aims to encourage community involvement and regional revitalization.

Additionally, Jindai Botanical Gardens is preparing for its traditional chrysanthemum festival. This year’s event includes new elements designed to evoke the atmosphere of the Edo period, such as Edo-style gates, lanterns, and ukiyo-e inspired illustrations. The exhibition will feature the symbolic “Jindai Flower Cart,” traditional bonsai, and various specialized chrysanthemum arrangements.
