Chrysida Gkagouti addresses body shaming and online harassment

Performer Chrysida Gkagouti addressed the body shaming and offensive social media comments she and Matoula Zamani received following a video performance of the song ‘Ola se Thymizoun’. Speaking on ERT1, Gkagouti explained that while they were accustomed to such remarks, the volume of notifications from a third-party post became overwhelming.

In response to the harassment, Gkagouti stated she took the step of exposing the identities and professions of certain individuals who left abusive comments. She specifically criticized a tattoo artist for making derogatory remarks about bodies, noting that such professionals should ideally help people feel secure in their own skin. Gkagouti expressed a desire for there to be consequences for such behavior, noting that one individual had already faced professional issues after being identified.
