Chu Mi-ae pledges cooperation with Gyeonggi Provincial Council
Gyeonggi Province Governor Chu Mi-ae has emphasized a commitment to communication and cooperation with the Gyeonggi Provincial Council following her first administrative inquiry. After a two-day session, Chu stated that the door to the governor's office remains open to council members to find collective solutions for the province.
During the inquiry, discussions focused heavily on the province's fiscal situation. Chu addressed the causes of the current financial difficulties and proposed directions for improvement rather than merely describing the current state. The session also involved debates regarding the basis for diagnosing the fiscal crisis and the impact of budget reductions on public welfare projects.
Notably, Chu broke with previous administrative customs by directly responding to the five-minute free speeches made by council members. She noted that these speeches often contain urgent local issues and the voices of citizens, making it her duty to respond personally. She defined the relationship between the council and the executive branch as one that must work together to identify problems and seek better answers through dialogue.
