Chua Ro bull racing festival to be held in An Giang

The 12th annual Chua Ro traditional bull racing festival, competing for the 'Ca Mau Fertilizer Cup,' is scheduled to take place on September 13 in An Cu commune, An Giang province. This year's event features 32 pairs of bulls from the Bay Nui region.

To prepare for the competition, owners employ specialized care and training methods to ensure their bulls are in peak condition. Traditional nutritional supplements, such as fresh coconut water and egg yolks, are used to boost energy. Owners also bring the bulls to the racing grounds to familiarize them with the muddy terrain.

In addition to the races, the festival includes a rapid photography competition titled 'Chua Ro Bull Racing Moments 2026.' The competition has attracted interest from photographers across various provinces, who travel to capture the cultural essence, the excitement of the spectators, and the local atmosphere.
