Chubut and Pilar launch visual health programs for students
The Chubut provincial government is launching a new edition of the federal program “Ver para Ser Libres” throughout November. The initiative utilizes mobile units equipped with ophthalmological tools and optical laboratories to conduct vision exams and manufacture prescription glasses on-site. The program aims to identify visual impairments that may hinder the learning and development of children and adolescents across various locations, including Comodoro Rivadavia, Trelew, and Puerto Madryn.
In the Pilar district, the municipality is continuing its “Ver bien, aprender mejor” program. This initiative provides ophthalmological check-ups and free prescription glasses to school-aged children and adolescents in local neighborhoods, such as La Pilarica. Local officials stated that the program is designed to support both health and education by ensuring students can learn under optimal conditions.
