Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres discusses public works and election unification

Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres has reaffirmed the provincial government's support for Rawson through the execution of the Plan Galina. He noted that the capital city ranks among the top three locations for per capita public works investment. Key projects currently underway include a municipal gymnasium, school infrastructure, a containment wall in Playa Unión, lighting for Route 7, and the remodeling of the water treatment plant.

Torres also addressed political developments, stating that he is in discussions with the governors of Río Negro and Neuquén to potentially unify provincial election dates for August 2027. He noted that final decisions would depend on national debates regarding the PASO primary system.

In response to criticisms from Rawson Mayor Damián Biss regarding the equitable distribution of funds, Torres denied allegations of tax debts or lack of provincial contributions to the municipality. He emphasized that provincial support is not determined by political affiliation and highlighted the upcoming bidding process for the dual carriageway connecting Rawson and Trelew.
