Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres leads in provincial polls
A recent poll by Trespuntozero in Chubut indicates that Governor Ignacio Torres holds a significant lead over Peronist deputy Juan Pablo Luque in potential voting intentions for 2027. Torres holds a 40% intention to vote compared to Luque's 19%, while Torres maintains a favorable image differential of 11.1%. On a national level, President Javier Milei maintains a support core of approximately 30%, but faces a rising negative image of 62.3% in the province.
In Comodoro Rivadavia, which represents roughly 30% of the provincial electorate, political maneuvering is underway as the current mayor, Othar Macharashvili, is ineligible for reelection. The provincial government is reportedly considering potential candidates for the local ticket, including councilman Martín Gómez and physician Julián Petrolito. Discussions involve the possibility of a joint formula to leverage Petrolito's positive reputation and Gómez's political standing within the Despierta Chubut coalition.
