Chubut Governor promotes economic development and housing models
Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres has engaged in several regional initiatives involving economic development and housing. In Puerto Madryn, Torres attended the 68th anniversary of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Production, and Tourism (CAMAD). During the event, he emphasized the importance of synergy between the public and private sectors to attract investment and strengthen the regional economy.
In a separate development, Torres met with Gerardo Martínez, the general secretary of the Construction Workers' Union of the Argentine Republic (UOCRA). They discussed the Chubut model for reactivating the former Pro. Cre. Ar. housing project in Trelew. The provincial government has taken over the project to complete 204 housing units, an investment of approximately $23.6 billion pesos that currently supports over 250 jobs. UOCRA expressed interest in studying this administrative and financial mechanism to potentially replicate it in other provinces facing unfinished housing developments.
