Chubut implements various public health and environmental initiatives
The Chubut provincial government is implementing several public health and environmental initiatives across the region. In the health sector, the Secretary of Health reported that 2,426 pregnant women received the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine, achieving an estimated coverage of 79.3%. This campaign aims to reduce hospitalizations and intensive care admissions for infants under six months old.
Additionally, health education programs in Trelew reached over 400 children and adolescents through activities focused on preventing foodborne illnesses and promoting hygiene habits. In Los Altares, the provincial government launched a specialized eight-month training course for more than 60 ambulance drivers to professionalize sanitary transport and emergency services.
On the environmental front, the “Octubre sin Plásticos” (Plastic-Free October) initiative in Trelew has collected over two tons of recyclable materials. The program involves more than 39 schools and aims to foster community awareness regarding waste separation and the circular economy.
