Chubut launches bidding for Cerro Negro – Valle Hermoso aqueduct
Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres has overseen the opening of bids for the construction of the new Cerro Negro – Valle Hermoso aqueduct. Part of the ‘Plan Galina’, this strategic infrastructure project aims to provide a long-term solution to water supply issues that have affected the southern region for decades.
The project involves a provincial investment exceeding 130 billion pesos, supported by international financing from CAF. Once completed, the aqueduct is expected to benefit approximately 450,000 residents across Comodoro Rivadavia, Rada Tilly, Sarmiento, and Caleta Olivia. The work will increase water flow from 4,700 to 7,000 m³/h, strengthening the reliability of the regional water system.
