Argentina infrastructure: New aqueduct bidding and irrigation season launch

In Argentina, the bidding process has opened for the construction of the Cerro Negro – Valle Hermoso aqueduct. This strategic project, part of the Plan Galina, involves an investment exceeding $110 million and is expected to be completed within 24 months. The infrastructure aims to provide a structural solution to water supply issues for approximately 450,000 residents in Comodoro Rivadavia, Rada Tilly, Sarmiento, and Caleta Olivia, increasing water flow from 4,700 to 7,000 m³/h.

Additionally, in the Alto Valle region of Argentina, the 2026-2027 irrigation season has commenced following the opening of the Ballester Dam gates. The water distribution system is being activated to support fruit tree flowering and frost protection, with water expected to reach Chichinales by August 31.
