Chubut launches provincial HPV self-test plan in Esquel

The Chubut Government, through the Secretariat of Health and the Social Security and Insurance Institute (ISSyS), is launching the Provincial HPV Plan in Esquel to prevent cervical cancer. The initiative, titled ‘Vos decidís. Vos prevenís’, focuses on providing access to HPV self-testing.

The self-test is a rapid, secure, and confidential method that allows women to collect their own samples to detect high-risk HPV types. This strategy aims to identify individuals who require medical follow-up and further studies, thereby strengthening early prevention efforts. The program is specifically directed at women between the ages of 30 and 65.

In Esquel, the plan will be implemented at several Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS), including Don Bosco, Bella Vista, Ceferino, and Sargento Cabral. This provincial expansion builds upon previous experiences implemented by SEROS in various localities.
