Chubut Ministry of Education and unions reach agreements on teacher contests

The Ministry of Education and various teacher unions met in Rawson to discuss modifications to Resolution ME No. 660/26, which governs the entry contest for the first grade of the teaching scale for the 2027 school year. The meeting included representatives from AMET, ATECh, SITRAED, SADOP, and UDA.

Key points discussed included requirements for initial and primary level entry, such as a minimum of two years of teaching experience and a professional rating of at least “Good.” While unions held differing views on seniority and professional ratings, all present groups requested the formalization of the age limit criteria, which sets an entry age of 53, with an exception for those who can prove 25 years of contributions by age 62.

Additionally, the Ministry agreed to a proposal from ATECh, SITRAED, SADOP, and UDA regarding medical clearances. It was decided that medical discharge for specific cases under the Teacher Personnel License Regime will be presented at the time of taking office. The parties also analyzed positions for special areas and modalities.
