Ushuaia and Neuquén announce major infrastructure investment plans

In Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Governor Gustavo Melella and the Fondo para la Ampliación de la Matriz Productiva Fueguina (FAMP) have signed an agreement to fund the expansion of Water Treatment Plant 4. The project, estimated to cost over 19 billion pesos, aims to double the city’s water purification capacity, serving up to 40,000 inhabitants and improving water security against extreme climate events. The works are expected to take approximately 21 months.

Simultaneously, the provincial government of Neuquén has launched the ‘Neuquén Vive’ plan. This infrastructure initiative involves 45 projects with an estimated investment of 685.8 billion pesos. The plan focuses on expanding sports, cultural, and recreational facilities, including seven swimming pools (one Olympic-sized), nine coastal walkways, and various community sports centers across several localities to promote regional development and social inclusion.
