World Breastfeeding Week initiatives held across Latin America

Various institutions across Latin America have organized activities to observe World Breastfeeding Week, focusing on education, clinical training, and public health support.

In Argentina, the Chubut government conducted awareness activities in hospitals and primary health centers. The National University of Santiago del Estero hosted an event regarding breastfeeding and sustainable food systems, while the Ministry of Health in Buenos Aires provided guidance on gradual weaning through its network of lactation clinics.

In Chile, the University of Talca held interdisciplinary training sessions for students in fields such as speech therapy and nursing, utilizing clinical simulations to prepare them to support families. In Colombia, an inter-institutional meeting in San Gabriel focused on early childhood, providing families with nutritional guidance and information on local support services to prevent chronic malnutrition.
