Chubut strengthens healthcare through rural recruitment and hospital upgrades
The Chubut Health Secretariat has launched a recruitment drive for general practitioners to staff three rural hospitals in Corcovado, Gobernador Costa, and Telsen. The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare access in areas outside major urban centers, where specialist availability is often limited. Interested professionals are instructed to submit their curricula vitae via email to the provincial health selection service.
In a separate effort to improve provincial health services, medical executive secretary Dr. Miguel Ferre Contreras inspected the Eva Perón Hospital to evaluate service optimization. The visit focused on the refunctionalization of hospital spaces, specifically targeting the expansion of mental health services through new consultation rooms to meet rising demand. Authorities also reviewed the adult and pediatric emergency departments to identify ways to improve patient care and capacity.
