Chuck Lorre details chaotic 'Two and a Half Men' set conditions

Series creator Chuck Lorre has shared new details regarding the chaotic environment on the set of ‘Two and a Half Men’ leading up to Charlie Sheen’s 2011 departure. In his upcoming memoir, ‘Sitcom: A Memoir’, Lorre describes the atmosphere during Sheen’s final season as “dark” and “scary”.

Lorre stated that the production team feared for the physical safety of Sheen and those around him, noting that the situation had escalated beyond mere misconduct. He recalled a particularly difficult moment during a scene filmed with Melanie Lynskey, where Sheen reportedly struggled to remember lines and had to hold onto furniture to remain upright.

While the fallout at the time involved public hostility between the actor and the producer, the relationship has since evolved. Sheen, who has been sober for nine years, recently worked with Lorre again on the series ‘Bookie’.
