Anambra Governor Soludo swears in 21 local government chairpersons

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially sworn in the newly elected chairpersons and deputies for all 21 Local Government Areas. During the inauguration in Awka, Soludo emphasized the need for accountability and service delivery, warning that the new leaders must adhere strictly to legal frameworks and existing processes. The election, which saw the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) win all seats, marks a significant step in the state’s governance reforms.

Separately, during the commissioning of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Awka Zonal Directorate Complex, Governor Soludo addressed a past investigation into the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Plc. He recounted that the EFCC cleared him of any wrongdoing following his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Soludo noted that he had voluntarily appeared for questioning and was eventually informed that the investigation established no corrupt conduct on his part.

EFCC Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede stated that the new regional office in Awka is intended to serve Anambra and Imo states, aiming to protect legitimate economic activities from fraud and financial crime rather than to target citizens.
