Chung-Ang University celebrates 110th anniversary with marathon and cleanup

Chung-Ang University held a marathon festival titled ‘Dallyeo’ and an environmental cleanup activity called ‘Sseudam Running’ to commemorate its 110th anniversary. The event took place along the Han River and involved approximately 900 participants, including the university president, faculty, students, and alumni.

The marathon featured two symbolic courses: a 5.16km course representing the university’s founding year of 1916, and a 10.17km course representing its anniversary date of October 17. Following the race, participants engaged in a plogging program to collect waste along the riverbanks from Hangang Railway Bridge to Dongjak Bridge, an initiative the university has conducted annually since 2022 as part of its ESG management philosophy.

President Park Se-hyun participated in the cleanup, emphasizing the importance of integrating sports energy with ecological preservation to promote sustainable values among the university community.
