Chung-Ang University holds 2027 creative essay admissions exam

Chung-Ang University successfully conducted its 2027 academic year creative essay-type admissions exam on October 11 at its Seoul campus. The exam was divided into morning sessions for humanities applicants, including departments such as English Language and Literature, Psychology, and Business Administration, and afternoon sessions for natural sciences applicants, including Medicine, Pharmacy, and Chemical Engineering.

This year marks the introduction of a new creative essay track, which is distinct from the traditional general track. This new format is specifically designed for high school seniors and does not require meeting the minimum CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) score requirements. Due to these unique criteria, the track saw significant interest, with 8,257 applicants competing for 86 spots. Notable competition rates included 166:1 for Media and Communication and 154:1 for Public Talent.

The university implemented various support measures, such as mock exams and guidebooks, to assist students with the new format. The actual attendance rate for the exam was 97.6%. Successful applicants for the creative essay track will be announced on December 18 at 2:00 PM via the university's admissions website. The general essay-type exams are scheduled to take place in November.
