Chung Euisun visits South Korean archery team at Asian Games

At the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, South Korean archery teams faced significant competition, particularly from India in compound events. The South Korean mixed compound team, consisting of Park Jung-yoon and Choi Yong-hee, secured a silver medal after a closely contested final against India, losing 19-20 in a shoot-off following a 157-157 tie. The women's compound team earned a bronze medal after defeating Taiwan. However, the men's compound team failed to medal for the first time, losing the bronze medal match to Taiwan.

Chung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group and President of the Korea Archery Association, visited the competition sites in Okazaki, Japan, to encourage the athletes. He emphasized the need for improved training methods to compete with strong international teams like India.

To support the athletes, Hyundai Motor Group and the Korea Archery Association provided extensive logistical assistance, including dedicated hotel accommodations, customized meal services with dispatched Korean chefs, and specialized training facilities in Korea that simulated the wind and environmental conditions of the Okazaki archery range.
