Chung Tung-chin launches Miaoli reelection campaign with cross-party support

Miaoli County Magistrate Chung Tung-chin held a campaign headquarters launch event on September 13 to support his reelection bid. The event featured prominent cross-party support from Kuomintang (KMT) Chairperson Cheng Li-wen and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) founder Ko Wen-je.

Ko Wen-je expressed support for Chung, citing his execution capabilities and ability to foster a culture of tolerance and stability. The event also highlighted a potential “Blue-White cooperation” in the region, as Chung has recruited Lai Hsiang-ling, the TPP Miaoli County Chairperson, into his team.

Chung’s campaign focuses on a “Miaoli Rising” vision, which includes a ten-year development plan centered on three major zones: the Miaozhong City Center, the Miaobei Technology Zone for semiconductors, and the Miaonan Industrial and Innovation Zone. Cheng Li-wen emphasized the goal of connecting the Hsinchu-Zhubei-Miaoli region to create a “Taiwan Silicon Valley” to drive economic growth for the next several decades.
