Chungbuk Office of Education supports students with borderline intelligence

The Chungbuk Office of Education is strengthening a comprehensive support system for students with borderline intelligence, who often face difficulties in learning and school adaptation despite not having intellectual disabilities.

Using screening checklists for third-grade elementary and first-grade middle school students, the office identified 322 students at risk. Following parental consent, 217 students have undergone in-depth expert diagnosis since June. The office provides customized programs in collaboration with universities and professional institutions, including basic academic skills and social improvement programs for elementary students, and career exploration and social skills training for middle schoolers.

To support these efforts, the office is also providing counseling for parents and specialized training for nearly 300 teachers to improve their ability to guide and support these students.
