Chungcheong Metropolitan Union proposes major road and rail projects

The Chungcheong Metropolitan Union has proposed several major road and rail projects to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to foster regional growth and establish a unified economic zone.

The union requested the inclusion of three key highway projects in national plans, including the Boryeong–Daejeon–Boeun Expressway, the Chungcheong Second Outer Ring Expressway, and the Daejeon–Goesan–Jecheon Expressway.

Additionally, seven rail projects were proposed to enhance human and material exchange between economic hubs. These include extensions of the CTX line to Seodaejeon, Chungbuk Jeungpyeong, and Cheonan/Asan, as well as the Cheongju Airport–Shintanjin line, the Chungcheong Inland Railway, and the Central Region East-West Transverse Railway.
