Chungcheong region education offices hold policy forum on teacher rights

Education offices from the Chungcheong region—including Chungnam, Chungbuk, Daejeon, and Sejong—convened to discuss policy cooperation regarding teacher rights protection and artificial intelligence in education.

A policy forum titled ‘Protecting Teacher Rights, Finding a Way in the Field’ was held with approximately 400 participants, including educators, parents, and officials. Discussions focused on addressing challenges such as responding to child abuse reports, managing student disruptions through separation measures, and supporting the recovery of both teachers and students following incidents of infringement on educational activities.

The regional education heads also addressed the integration of AI in future education, aiming to share resources and jointly develop educational materials. To strengthen teacher protections, proposals were made to amend laws related to child welfare and teacher status to protect legitimate disciplinary actions, as well as to implement a shared online incident management system across the region.
