Chungkang College hosts webtoon exhibition on local volunteers

Chungkang College of Cultural Industries and the Icheon Volunteer Center have launched a special exhibition titled ‘Volunteerism! Meeting Webtoons!’ at the Icheon City Hall lobby. Running from August 31 to September 9, the event features webtoons created by college students based on the real-life experiences and interviews of local volunteers.

The project aims to transform the stories of community volunteers—who work in areas such as welfare and the environment—into accessible cultural content. By using the webtoon medium, the exhibition seeks to portray volunteerism as an everyday practice available to all citizens rather than an extraordinary sacrifice.

In addition to the digital and printed works, the exhibition showcases various character-themed merchandise, including ceramic plates, mugs, aprons, and eco-friendly bags. The initiative serves as a practical training ground for students to develop content creation skills while providing a way to archive and preserve the social contributions of local residents as lasting cultural assets.
