Chungnam Office of Education to hold briefing on school merger

The Chungnam Office of Education will host briefing sessions on November 3 and 4 at the Seocheon Cultural Center to discuss the proposed merger of Seocheon High School and Seocheon Girls' High School. The initiative aims to address the declining school-age population caused by low birth rates and to provide broader educational opportunities in response to changing university entrance exam environments.

The sessions are open to parents, staff, alumni, and local residents. Key topics will include the necessity of the merger, future schedules, changes to the curriculum and student activities, and a Q&A session. If more than 60% of parents from both schools agree to the merger, the integration is scheduled to take effect on March 1, 2029.
