Chungnam Province promotes K-products and business support in Germany
Chungnam Province held an export consultation meeting in Frankfurt, Germany, to promote local products and support regional businesses in the European market. Thirteen companies from cities including Hongseong, Asan, and Cheonan participated, showcasing items such as seaweed, tteokbokki, soybean paste kits, and cosmetics.
The event resulted in approximately 110 consultations totaling $17.38 million in export discussions. Notably, 11 companies signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) worth $7.85 million. Specific successes included Taekyung Food signing a $1 million contract with Popeye Gmbh and Shinsung TNF securing a $1 million deal with True World Foods.
Governor Park Su-hyeon also met with representatives from local companies' European subsidiaries, including Hanwha TotalEnergies, Ceragem, and Atomy, to discuss operational challenges. Business leaders reported difficulties such as increased regulations, rising costs due to global conflicts, and intense competition from Chinese firms. In response, the Governor pledged to review proposals for support, including youth internship programs and logistics assistance, to improve the business environment for Chungnam-based enterprises.
