Chungnam Province requests budget increase for 10 key projects
Chungnam Province held a budget policy council with the Democratic Party of Korea to request increased national funding for regional development projects. Governor Park Su-hyeon presented 10 key projects requiring additional parliamentary budget increases to reach a total target of 13.5 trillion KRW for next year's government budget.
The proposed projects include the establishment of the National Historical and Cultural Zone Promotion Agency, the Chungnam AX (AI Transformation) project, the creation of a national cemetery in the Chungnam region, and the connection of the Seohae Line with the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railway (KTX). Other initiatives involve expanding major road networks, such as the Daesan–Dangjin–Sejong–Anseong expressway, and developing the K-Heritage Valley.
While the current government budget proposal for the province reflects a 7.6% increase from this year to 13.2632 trillion KRW, Governor Park emphasized that an additional 236.8 billion KRW is necessary to meet the province's development goals and strengthen national competitiveness.
