Chungnam Province proposes 12.5 trillion won budget for 2027

Chungnam Province has submitted a 12.5179 trillion won budget proposal for 2027 to the provincial assembly. This represents a 55.1 billion won increase from the current year's budget. The proposal focuses on three primary administrative directions: establishing Chungnam as an AI capital, promoting a healing environment, and strengthening safety and welfare.

Key investments include 9.4 billion won for regional AI transformation and 4.7 billion won for public sector AI activation. The province also plans to fund cultural and tourism projects, such as the construction of the Chungnam Art Museum and preparations for the 2027 Island Biennale.

In terms of social welfare, the budget allocates funds for rural basic income, support for female farmers, and enhanced services for the disabled. Additionally, resources are directed toward disaster prevention, including 9.3 billion won for forest fire suppression helicopters and 65.7 billion won for improving natural disaster-prone areas.
