Chungnam Province signs agreement to boost social solidarity economy

Chungnam Province has signed a major solidarity and cooperation agreement with 13 social solidarity economy entities and three national movement organizations to promote sustainable regional development. The agreement, signed at the Chungnam Social Economy Innovation Town in Cheongyang, aims to expand cooperation among social enterprises, village enterprises, and cooperatives.

Key objectives of the partnership include discovering joint projects, expanding market channels, providing financial support, and strengthening capacity through education and consulting. The initiative seeks to address regional challenges such as population decline, local extinction, care gaps, and economic polarization by fostering a “fountain economy” that builds capacity from the grassroots level rather than relying solely on top-down corporate growth.

Following the signing ceremony, a forum was held to discuss policy directions and integrate field expertise into regional strategies. Participants included officials from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and provincial policy experts.
