Chungnam Provincial Council advances green building and local SME support

The Chungnam Provincial Council is implementing legislative measures to support carbon neutrality and local economic interests. Member of the council Lee Cheol-su has proposed an amendment to the ‘Chungcheongnam-do Ordinance on Support for the Creation of Green Buildings’. This amendment aims to mandate zero-energy building certifications for public buildings and establish a legal basis for financial and administrative support for private sector green remodeling to improve energy efficiency.

Additionally, the council is moving to prioritize the purchase of products from local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for schools and educational institutions within the province. Efforts are also being made to eliminate blind spots in defect management for projects commissioned by educational institutions.
