Church of Crete to hold conference on violence and deviant behavior

The Church of Crete is organizing a conference in November to address the phenomena of violence and deviant behavior occurring on the island. The event will be held at the Orthodox Academy in Chania.

On September 15, 2026, the Organizing and Scientific Committees met in Heraklion at the Palace of the Holy Archbishopric of Crete to finalize the arrangements. The meeting was led by Archbishop Eugenios, President of the Holy Synod, and included various Metropolitans, clergy, and local officials, such as the Vice Regional Governor of Education and the Mayor of Rethymno.
