Church thefts reported in Entrerríos and other regions

In the rural area of Entrerríos, Colombia, criminals stole religious images, Stations of the Cross figures, and sound equipment from the El Zancudo chapel on November 4. This incident marks the fourth church theft in the North Antioquia region within a single month, following similar robberies in Belmira, Santa Rosa de Osos, and San Pedro de los Milagros. Authorities are investigating whether a single criminal group is responsible for the series of thefts. Entrerríos Mayor Julio César Lopera expressed concern regarding the wave of robberies affecting neighboring municipalities.

In a separate incident, the Cristo Pobre chapel reported theft and vandalism discovered on November 6. According to coordinator Ernesto Ortega, perpetrators stole light reflectors and two eight-meter light poles, while also damaging the chapel's identification sign. The community noted that the loss impacts their ability to host weekly religious and community activities, including catechesis for approximately 40 children.
